USA Imaging, Inc. began with a simple mission: to help businesses and organizations preserve and manage their documents through high-quality scanning and imaging solutions. What started as a modest operation in the early 1990s has grown into a trusted name across San Diego County.

The foundation for USA Imaging was laid in 1989, when our founder began working for Optigraphics in San Diego. There, he gained invaluable experience training and supporting major corporations—Boeing, McDonnell Douglas, Sikorsky Aircraft, utility companies, and more—in implementing enterprise-wide large-format imaging systems. He helped these organizations digitize massive archives of engineering drawings and technical schematics, ensuring their transition to digital workflows was smooth, efficient, and forward-thinking.

After several successful years at Optigraphics, he saw the opportunity to expand on this expertise and ventured out to launch his first independent company. Specializing in large-document scanning and CAD conversion, he pioneered a process that quickly became integral to early Geographic Information System (GIS) development and digital archiving. His work helped shape how engineering firms, municipalities, and utilities manage complex documentation—transforming paper-based systems into searchable, accessible, and secure digital repositories.
